Service Description
Developed by osteopathic physician, John Upledger, CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive, hands-on healing modality that focuses on the wave-like rhythmic pulse that goes through the entire body. The cranialsacral system surrounds the brain and spinal cord comprising our central nervous system. CranioSacral Therapy seeks to release restrictions in the soft tissues to improve the functioning of the central nervous system. Fully clothed, the client lies face-up. Using very light pressure (about the weight of a nickel), the practitioner makes contact at selected points on the body. CranioSacral Therapy has been shown to help the following: • Central Nervous System Disorders • Migraines and Headaches • ADD/ADHD • Chronic Neck and Back Pain • Fibromyalgia • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder • Stress and Tension-Related Disorders • Dementia • Immune Disorders • And Many Other Conditions If you have increased intracranial pressure, a herniated medulla blongata, recent skull fracture, cerebrospinal fluid leak, spina bifida or Arnold Chiari Malformation then CranioSacral Therapy is contraindicated. Acute stroke, cerebral aneurysm and hemorrhage is also contraindicated, however, it can be performed 6 – 8 weeks after with your physiscian’s clearance.
